RFE's 60th anniversary celebration in Washington, DC. Displays highlighted RFE's radio distribution project in Afghanistan, a new book on "Cold War Broadcasting" by former RFE officials Ross Johnson and Eugene Parta. A sign formerly mounted at the RFE headquarters buildings in both Munich and in Prague and featuring the text of Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was also on display.
